Air Force Strikes Hard In Niger Delta

The Nigeria Air Force (NAF) has said in its effort to stop illegal bunkering and criminal activities in the Niger Delta, fighter planes on Monday destroyed illegal oil refineries and barges filled with petroleum products, Daily Trust reports.
A statement from Air Force spokesman Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa said the refineries and barges were sighted by NAF Diamond 42 aircraft on an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission in Bille Community of Rivers State.

He added that: “Thereafter, an Mi-24V helicopter gunship was called-in for attack. The operation was a success.” He also said: “A similar operation was carried out with remarkable success about two days ago in the same location.”
