Hilary Clinton's Fly

A FLY that landed on Hillary Clinton’s face during the US Presidential debate with Donald Trump seems to be bringing some light relief to viewers fed up with the insults, lies and accusations.

A Twitter-storm erupted when the bluebottle homed in on Hillary's head as she slapped Donald Trump down for accusing her husband Bill of historic sex offences.

Some viewers, bored by the battle between the candidates, suggested the fly might make a better bet for the White House.

Naomi GB tweeted: "The fly that flew on Hillary's face is the real MVP of the debate."

Laur agreed and tweeted: "I'd rather vote for that fly that just landed on Hillary's face."
The 'Vote Fly' theme was taken up by Larrian who said: "I'm voting for that fly that just landed on Hillary's face."
Some commentators were taken aback by the fact Mrs Clinton did not appear to flinch when the fly landed on her face mid-sentence but carried on with her attack on the Republican nominee without skipping a beat.
This was in sharp contrast to the reaction of Barack Obama who earned the wrath of animal rights campaigners when he swatted and killed a fly as it buzzed him during a live television interview in 2009 and shouted "Got the sucker!"
Others viewers suggested the incident could have been an omen pointing towards the eventual winner of the race to the White House.
Gaby Kirschner tweeted: "A fly just landed on Hillary's face. When a moth landed on Ronaldo's face, Portugal won the Copa. Definitely means something."
Flygate happened as the Democratic nominee was in the middle of quoting Michelle Obama in response to what Mr Trump said about Bill Clinton’s rape accusations.
Mrs Clinton said: "He gets to run his campaign any way he chooses. I am reminded of what my friend Michelle Obama advised us all. When they go low, you go high."
Katie Nolan wondered if the whole debate was just an elaborate publicity stunt for the latest hit television show.
She tweeted: "Wait. Did a fly just land on Hillary's face? Is this all just a promo for Westworld?"
This was a reference to the hit sci-fi series set in the fictional Westworld, a high-tech Western-themed amusement park where human characters swat flies away but their animatronic hosts do not appear to have an aversive reflex against them.
