Senator Returns N350M To EFCC

The Nation reports on Saturday, November 5 that Omisore first paid N300million, then another N50million to the EFCC on Friday, November 4.

”We hope he will pay up the balance as soon as possible. We are determined to retrieve all slush funds for the nation’s use,” The Nation quoted a top-level source in the EFCC as saying.

It added that about N4.685billon was transferred from.......
the office of the ex-national security adviser Sambo Dasuki to Sylva McNamara Limited, a company linked to a former minister of state for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.

About N3.880billion of the sum was allegedly given to Governor Ayodele Fayose and Senator Omisore through cash and bank transfers by Obanikoro. Omisore reportedly got about N1.7billion. Omisore’s refund comes just as Obanikoro paid back N100.4million to the EFCC with an undertaking to pay about N480million more.

The Nation says ex-presidential spokesman Reuben Abati was granted bail to go and find the N50million allocated to him by Dasuki.  “Having substantially met his bail conditions, the EFCC has released Obanikoro from custody. Apart from refunding N100million, he also pledged to pay back about N480million. “Regarding Abati, the EFCC released him on bail to source for the N50million credited to him by ONSA,” another top source was quoted as saying about the cases.
