“President-elect Donald Trump threatens our environment and......
we vow to fight him every step of the way,” Kate Colwell, a spokeswoman for Friends of The Earth, said in a press statement.
“He spoke using fear, suspicion, racism and hate to people who felt the government had left them behind…[W]e reject the politics of fear utilized by Trump while recognizing that we must address the fundamental issues of equality, race and class that divide this country,” she said.
Friends of the Earth endorsed Clinton’s opponent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primary race. The group accused Clinton of “soft climate denial” in April, and they’ve said her positions on global warming are “disgraceful” because they don’t go far enough.
