Pastor Allegedly Raping 14-Yr-Old Member, Sells Church Building And Relocates

A pastor, Chris McDouglas Omosokpea of Peculiar Generation Assembly Church, Oshodi, Lagos, who’s facing a charge for the rape of his member’s teen daughter has allegedly sold his church building and fled to an unknown place to establish another church. SaharaReporters reports that Omosokpea had allegedly sexually abused a 14-year-old girl for the past four years before he was arrested in June 2020 and charged before the court for defilement. He was, however, granted bail on health grounds before the Lagos High Court. Omosokpea didn’t show up in court when the case came up again on Tuesday, March 2. The Presiding Magistrate, Kubeinje, subsequently adjourned the case till April 21, 2021. It was gathered that, before he was arrested, the victim claimed the pastor deceived her with fake prophecies and she kept the abuses away from her parents, who had been members of the church for over 12 years, with a strong belief that Pastor Douglas was a real man of God. The Imo State Police Command on Monday arrested a 20-year-old self-confessed member of Aye confraternity for allegedly killing a graduate of the Imo State University, IMSU.

command’s wanted list for robbery, murder and cultism, was arrested at a beach in Mechanic Village, Nekede, in Owerri West Local Government Area.

The state police spokesman, Deputy Superintendent Andrew Ekwerem, paraded the suspect before newsmen on Tuesday, recalling that the deceased, identified simply as Chikabala, had gone to complete his clearance at the university, preparatory for the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, programme when he was attacked by suspected cultists in front of the school gate.
“His assailants shot him thrice and left him dead in August last year,” Ekwerem added, noting that over 25 other suspects, who were involved in separate criminal acts, were arrested alongside Onuoha.
“The arrest was in line with Imo State Police Command’s Operation Nkpochapu Phase II (wipe out criminals).
“Some of the arrested suspects have been charged to court, while others are still undergoing thorough investigation,” the spokesperson added.
In his confession before newsmen at the state police headquarters in Owerri, the state capital, the suspect said since his involvement in crime, he had killed three persons.
He said, “I am a member of Aye cult group. We attack rival cultists anywhere, any day and any time. I don’t attack rival cultists alone. Our members walk in group.
