CAN Says It Will Not Follow Apostle Suleimana

Christian Association of Nigeria has stated that it won’t be sending a representative to.....
accompany Apostle Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries to honour the invite by the State Security Service (SSS).

Apostle Suleman was invited by the SSS after a video emerged of him telling his church members to kill any Fulani herdsmen discover around his church.

There was an initial attempt to arrest the founder of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman on January 25, but Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose thwarted the effort of the officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) who accosted Apostle Johnson after a crusade in Ekiti state.
According to Premium Times, the media aide to CAN President Olasupo Ayokunle, Bayo Oladeji, said the association’s leadership would not go with the pastor, but was solidly behind him.
Oladeji said: “I spoke with him (Mr. Suleman) this morning. CAN is solidly behind him. He was invited to the office of the SSS; let him go. We are behind him, but as for whether or not we are going to the SSS office with him, my answer to that is no. He was invited alone. But we are solidly behind him.”

Meanwhile, Apostle Suleman has said his video which was termed as inciting violence was misunderstood by the DSS officers.
He said: “I was misquoted. I was referring to my security team. I’m not a religious bigot, what I said was that the senseless killings must stop. Muslim and Christian leaders must come together to end the killings.”
He added that he does not belong to any political party and refused to be drag into any partisan issue
