Food Prices Will Crash In A Matter Of Weeks - Audu Ogbeh

The federal government has assured that the prices of goods in Nigeria will crash within weeks. The minister of agriculture and rural development Audu Ogbeh while speaking in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state over weekend said the price of rice would drop significantly within the next two weeks.

Ogbeh said the ministry plans to supply Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) with 20 tons of rice seedlings in the next planting season.

He said the effort will help boost rice production in Nigeria as the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration plans to end the importation of rice this year. Ogbeh further noted that Nigeria's domestic rice production capacity should sustain and meet foreign demand of rice supply.

Also speaking on the matter, the Bishop of Akure Diocese of the Church of Anglican Communion Simeon Borokini called on Nigerian government to focus more on Agriculture.

Borokini said the nation can also focus on exploitation of solid mineral to save it from recession.
