FG Reveals How Many Sim Cards That Can Be Linked To One NIN Number

The federal government has revealed that Nigerians can link up to seven SIM cards to one National Identification Number on the National Identity Management Commission Mobile App. This was disclosed on Friday, January 8, by the minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, Punch reports. He said: "You will be able to link up to seven SIM numbers to only one. I have already downloaded the app, launched the app, and already linked some of my numbers immediately. This is part of digitalisation." Pantami said the ministry, NIMC and telecommunication operators would review the entire NIN linkage to SIM cards by network users if fresh lockdown is imposed in the country. Ex-Minister Has Been Kidnapped By Unknown Gunmen In Nasarawa

A former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Mr. Usaini Akwanga, has been abducted by unknown gunmen on his farm in the Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

A family source said the gunmen, numbering 10, stormed the farmland around 6pm on Tuesday and kidnapped Akwanga.
The source who spoke with Punch revealed that the minister is aged and the gunmen had yet to contact the family.

“We are scared because he is old. The gunmen have not called or demanded any ransom, so we don’t even know their motive.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Idirisu Kennedy, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Wednesday during a telephone chat.

“Investigation has started into the incident and we will ensure he is rescued unhurt,” he added.
