FG Reveals How Many Sim Cards That Can Be Linked To One NIN Number

The federal government has revealed that Nigerians can link up to seven SIM cards to one National Identification Number on the National Identity Management Commission Mobile App. This was disclosed on Friday, January 8, by the minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, Punch reports. He said: "You will be able to link up to seven SIM numbers to only one. I have already downloaded the app, launched the app, and already linked some of my numbers immediately. This is part of digitalisation." Pantami said the ministry, NIMC and telecommunication operators would review the entire NIN linkage to SIM cards by network users if fresh lockdown is imposed in the country. Meanwhile, he said enrolment for the National Identification Number (NIN) should not consume the time of the applicants. Commotion As INEC Drops Off Documents At Melaye’s Office Door, Notifying Him Of Recall Process



Senator Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi West), has been served with the documents notifying him of the process to recall him from the upper legislative chamber, by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Punch reports. 

Senator Melaye was in the senate chamber when the officials arrived; but they dropped the documents at his door and waited.

Aides to the embattled senator were nowhere in sight when the notice was served, and his office was locked. 

Melaye had mocked the exercise on Monday, September 25, referring to it as a ‘Made in Taiwan’ exercise. 

He stated: “I celebrate the obituary of the ‘Made in Taiwan’ recall exercise, while sympathizing with the induced petitioners, who will obviously face charges of forgery and other criminal charges before a court of law very, very soon.”
