FG Reveals How Many Sim Cards That Can Be Linked To One NIN Number

The federal government has revealed that Nigerians can link up to seven SIM cards to one National Identification Number on the National Identity Management Commission Mobile App. This was disclosed on Friday, January 8, by the minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, Punch reports. He said: "You will be able to link up to seven SIM numbers to only one. I have already downloaded the app, launched the app, and already linked some of my numbers immediately. This is part of digitalisation." Pantami said the ministry, NIMC and telecommunication operators would review the entire NIN linkage to SIM cards by network users if fresh lockdown is imposed in the country. Meanwhile, he said enrolment for the National Identification Number (NIN) should not consume the time of the applicants. President Buhari Sends Northern Governors To South-East On “Peace Mission”




President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly sent governors in the Northern region to the South-Eastern part of the country in an effort to secure peace in the region.

According to The Cable, the team of governors will be lead by the chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Kashim Shettima, and will include governors of Katsina, Aminu Masari; Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwal; Kebbi, Atiku Bagudu;and Kano Abdullahi Ganduje.

The president had, before leaving the country on Sunday for the UN General Assembly, met with governors Shettima, Ganduje, and Tambuwal.

The governors will meet with the South-East governors, as well as their Cross River and Rivers counterparts.

They are expected to discuss the best way to maintain peace in the region, following the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The South-East governors had on Friday proscribed the group, making their actions illegal.
