FG Reveals How Many Sim Cards That Can Be Linked To One NIN Number

The federal government has revealed that Nigerians can link up to seven SIM cards to one National Identification Number on the National Identity Management Commission Mobile App. This was disclosed on Friday, January 8, by the minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, Punch reports. He said: "You will be able to link up to seven SIM numbers to only one. I have already downloaded the app, launched the app, and already linked some of my numbers immediately. This is part of digitalisation." Pantami said the ministry, NIMC and telecommunication operators would review the entire NIN linkage to SIM cards by network users if fresh lockdown is imposed in the country. Meanwhile, he said enrolment for the National Identification Number (NIN) should not consume the time of the applicants. But Wike in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communications in the State, said the decision to ban the proposed protest follows the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad by the Inspector General of Police.



The statement reads; “The Rivers State Government hereby wishes to inform the general public that all forms of protests have been banned throughout the State.



“Therefore, all proposed protests under #End SARS Campaign are hereby prohibited.

“Government took this decision because the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had already scrapped the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. Therefore, there is no need for any form of protest against a Unit of the Police Force that no longer exists.”




“The Governor, therefore, calls on parents and guardians to ensure that their children or wards do not violate this order.




“Law enforcement agencies are also directed to ensure that the ban is enforced and that violators are brought to book,” Wike warned.
