2023: Sentence Me To Firing Squad If I Don't Keep My Presidential Promise - GEJ's Ex Aide
Ahead of the 2023 presidential elections, Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former senior special assistant on public affairs to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan has told Nigerians what to do if he doesn’t keep his presidential promises.
Okupe in an appearance on VanguardLive TV's The Controversy on Wednesday, March 17, said that he should be made to face a firing squad.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain who scored the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government low in handling insecurity said he had a master plan for Nigeria's security situation.
He went on to note that if the situation with Nigeria's security remained the same, he would run throw his hat into the ring for the presidency in 2023.
The former presidential aide lamented that the activities of bandits are running the education system in the north to the ground, adding that technology should be deployed to wipe them out.
This is coming more than two weeks after Okupe announced this plan to contest the Nigerian presidency in the 2023 general elections.
The former aide made this known via his social media accounts on Friday, February 26, adding that he would be running for president under certain conditions.
According to Okupe, the conditions for him joining the race includes if banditry continues nationwide, kidnapping remains uncontrolled across Nigeria, herdsmen attacks persist in the southwest and Boko Haram insurgency does not end.
